Job summary

RBC is seeking a focused professional to help define and build the AI landscape in Market Risk North America, aligning with enterprise objectives and enhancing Local Market Risk processes. The role requires strong programming and analytical skills, attention to detail, and teamwork across cross-functional groups in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience at an Investment Bank with exposure to market risk and knowledge of trading products.
• Experience working with large language models programmatically, including agentic AI applications (tool use, planning, memory) and hands-on implementation.
• Comfortable working in a team codebase: Git, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD awareness.
• Strong communication skills, with ability to create clear documentation and presentations.
• Autonomous and highly motivated with ability to multi-task and work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to improving LMR infrastructure by identifying opportunities for data standardization and centralization.
• Assist in building AI tools to enhance risk managers’ risk assessment capabilities.
• Assist in developing AI strategy and contribute to project planning.
• Review existing market risk processes and identify pain points or opportunities to use AI to improve processes.
• Work closely with IT to support development and refinement of reporting-related processes.
• Create written communications and presentation materials on project progress for committees and leadership.
• Align AI initiatives with broader enterprise initiatives.
• Collaborate with GRM teams to share tools and information with LMR.
