AI Data Engineer

This role supports SLC Management’s continued investment in artificial intelligence and machine learning to drive data-informed decision-making across global portfolios. The selected professional will take a senior position in a team responsible for designing and deploying advanced AI/ML systems with applications in investment research, risk management, and portfolio optimization.

What is in it for you:
  1. Salaried: $78-82 per hour.
  2. Incorporated Business Rate: $92-96 per hour.
  3. 12-month contract.
  4. Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
  5. Work schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.
  6. Hybrid work: 3 days per week in-office.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement advanced AI/ML models to support asset management objectives.
  2. Translate business and investment requirements into scalable AI solutions.
  3. Build and maintain secure, production-ready data pipelines in collaboration with the data platform team.
  4. Partner with cloud engineers to evaluate and apply emerging AI technologies.
  5. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  6. Ensure scalability, efficiency, and reliability of deployed solutions.
  7. Contribute to the development of governance frameworks to align with compliance and regulatory standards.

What you will need to succeed:
  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  2. 8+ years of experience in data-focused organizations, including 4+ years working with cloud-native technologies.
  3. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing AI/ML solutions, preferably within the asset management or financial services industry.
  4. Proficient in Python and experienced with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  5. Strong background in cloud platforms and infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, Snowflake, and Oracle.
  6. Expertise in LLMs, embedding models, and agent-based AI architectures (e.g., multi-agent, RAG-CAG frameworks).
  7. Skilled in building scalable data pipelines and deploying production-ready ML systems.
  8. Familiarity with modern digital and CRM technologies.
  9. Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder priorities.
  10. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making abilities.
