The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect who can translate business strategies and requirements into world-class technical solutions, applications, and process designs. The role involves responsibility for all technical aspects of solution delivery, from inception through design to implementation. The Data Architect will conduct detailed solution analysis and provide expert judgment on complex technical issues, including development, infrastructure, data, and configuration management. This role requires a unique blend of skills typically found in Cloud Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Reporting Specialists. The Data Architect will also help establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices to ensure consistency across data solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of end-to-end data solutions, including data architecture, integration, modeling, security, privacy, regulatory compliance, performance, data governance, and business intelligence, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Provide technical oversight and recommendations on data infrastructure, both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and requirements.
  • Present and socialize proposed solutions to technical and stakeholder groups.
  • Support solution delivery by providing insights to application development teams and project managers.
  • Participate in project activities and support implementation processes.
  • Ensure the quality and standards compliance of the implemented solutions.
  • Create architecture documents explaining solution attributes and benefits.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies relevant to data solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of solution management methodologies.
  • Recommend solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options considering business and technology factors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; professional certifications are a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing modern data architectures for large-scale solutions.
  • Expertise in data management patterns, including ETL/ELT, Data Mesh, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, streaming, and virtualization.
  • Strong knowledge of SAS, SAS Viya, and migration strategies.
  • Understanding of data modeling principles (dimensional, data vault) based on established methodologies like Kimball.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Talend, DataStage, etc.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and platforms like Collibra, Informatica EDC/Axon.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in SQL and applying it to diverse business requirements.
  • Knowledge of ETL frameworks using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and platforms like Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Familiarity with Azure architecture and services like RBAC, AAD, VM, ADLS, Azure DevOps, and Event Hubs.
  • Ability to build secure architectures with encryption, Key Vault, access control, network security, and data security.
  • Knowledge of MDM concepts and solutions.
  • Experience deploying data solutions on Big Data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making skills, and experience working in collaborative, distributed environments.
