PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Serves as the Agronomy Operations intern, trains and assists with general Agronomy functions to learn the foundation of the system and industry prepare for future career.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations.
2. Assist with facility operations.
3. Visit FS locations and customers building professional relationships.
4. Assist with field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
5. Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
6. Gain understanding and experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college or university and in good academic standing at time the internship begins.
2. Demonstrates ability to work independently.
3. Demonstrates essential abilities including communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
4. Must have and maintain a valid G driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
5. Must be able to travel independently.
6. May be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.
7. Frequently exposed and required to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, etc.), as well as working at various heights or elevated platforms.
