Job Description

South Country Co-op is hiring a motivated and customer-focused Agro Clerk to join our team at Cypress Agro Centre in Cypress County, AB. If you’re passionate about customer service and working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, this could be the opportunity for you!

Reporting to the Agribusiness Manager, the Agro Clerk plays a key role in supporting daily retail operations at the Cypress Agro Centre by delivering outstanding customer service, assisting with cashier and sales floor duties, and contributing to a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. This role is ideal for someone with a service-first mindset, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn about agricultural products and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service at the checkout and on the sales floor
  • Operate the cash register and handle customer transactions efficiently and accurately
  • Respond promptly to in-person and phone inquiries
  • Stock and merchandise products on shelves; maintain organized displays
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment inside and outside the store, including sales floor, checkout area, and parking lot
  • Assist in product knowledge development by participating in training sessions and vendor clinics
  • Support the Agro Centre team in daily administrative tasks as required
  • Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 15 years of age and completed Grade 9
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is an asset
  • Able to lift and carry products in excess of 55lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to climb ladders and operate a forklift
  • Administrative experience is considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of farm equipment or a willingness to learn is required
  • Strong commitment to customer service and the ability to assist customers in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-generational and diverse teams
  • High level of flexibility, dependability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to grow product knowledge and improve sales techniques through training

Work Schedule

This position requires availability from Monday to Saturday 7:30am-5:30pm
