Job summary

Brandt Rosthern, located in Saskatchewan, is seeking a Shop Foreman for our John Deere Agriculture dealership. The role oversees the Service Department, provides quotes and reviews work orders, and steps in as Service Manager when needed.

The ideal candidate has a strong agriculture background, journeyman certification, and proven leadership in diagnostics, customer communication, and team coaching. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a Service Technician
• Journeyman certification preferred
• Experience diagnosing hydraulic and electrical issues on Agriculture equipment preferred
• Familiar with John Deere Agriculture products
• Ability to lead and coach others
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet functions
• Excellent negotiation/conflict resolution, decision making, and delegation skills
• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
• Basic understanding of financial principles related to service department operations

Responsibilities

• Assists with assigning jobs and work orders to Service Department employees according to their skills
• Assists in appraisal of repair orders and may participate in repairs; reviews progress
• Acts as a point-of-contact for technicians on equipment repair inquiries
• Directs and assists in diagnosis of machine problems
• Inspects and repairs all special tools; recommends new tooling
• Advises managers of customer complaints
• Coordinates and schedules in-house technician training
• Supports Service Advisors with technical questions
• Maintains safe workplace processes and environment
• May fill the Service Manager role in their absence
• May arrange re-conditioning of used equipment and setup of new equipment
• May approve release of equipment for delivery
• May provide performance feedback and disciplinary recommendations
• Bills approximately 50% of available time
• Other duties as assigned
