Description

Are you interested in working for a busy agriculture service shop? Do you want to advance your career with some of the most technologically advanced agricultural machinery? Are you eager to expand your knowledge?

As an Agricultural Equipment Technician or Service Technician, you will work independently to perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment. Your work will be both in-field and in-shop, requiring minimal supervision. As a Journeyperson, you will also mentor others, sharing your expertise.

To succeed in this role, you should:
  • Enjoy solving problems and troubleshooting.
  • Take pride in delivering high-quality, error-free work.
  • Be willing to work extended hours and some weekends to exceed expectations.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Be enthusiastic about technology and its potential to improve productivity.
  • Enjoy mentoring apprentices and sharing your knowledge with patience.
  • Perform complex repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Possess expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in agricultural and turf equipment.
  • Understand agriculture and the challenges faced by growers.
Qualifications for an interview include:
  • Completion of a certified trade such as Agriculture Equipment Technician, Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, or similar. John Deere certification is a strong asset.
  • Consideration may be given to 3rd or 4th level apprentices.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in diagnostics and service repairs.
  • Physical ability to perform the job, including lifting at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
