Description

Are you interested in working for a busy agricultural service shop? Do you want to advance your career by working with some of the most technologically advanced agricultural machines? Are you eager to expand your knowledge?

As an Agricultural Equipment Technician or Service Technician, you will work independently to perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment. Your work will be both in-field and in-shop, requiring minimal supervision. As a Journeyperson, you will also mentor others by sharing your knowledge.

Success in this role requires:
  • A passion for problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • A commitment to high-quality, error-free work
  • A drive to exceed expectations, including working extended hours and some weekends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in technology and its application to improve productivity
  • Patience and willingness to mentor apprentices
  • Capability to perform complex repairs using specialized tools and equipment
  • Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in agricultural and turf equipment
  • An understanding of agriculture and the challenges faced by growers
Qualifications for interview consideration:
  • Completion of a certified trade such as Agriculture Equipment Technician, Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic, or similar; John Deere certification is a strong asset
  • Consideration may be given to 3rd or 4th level apprentices
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in diagnostics and service repairs
  • Physical ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada
