Job description

The Sales Representative will act as the point of contact between the business and their customers. The Sales Representative be responsible for executing sales and building strong customer relationships in their set territory. Knowledge of the agriculture industry, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure and the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment is crucial. He/she will be a results-driven, self-starter with a “Can Do” attitude who will be innovative in dealing with problems and in identifying and taking advantage of all opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in agriculture
  • 1 – 3 years of related experience in a related field and a passion for agriculture
  • Crop Advisor accreditation or willing and able to attain
  • High level of integrity and accountability and ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently, managing his or her time and work flow
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations
  • Ability to work variable hours due to seasonal nature of the business

Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and communicating field trials
  • Sales of fertilizer, crop protectants, see and other agricultural related supplies within a designated territory and group of accounts
  • Work closely with growers and industry partners on value added research: soil sampling, field mapping, tissue sampling, pest monitoring
  • Profitably expand the client base within the assigned territory
  • Cultivate positive business building relationships with our customers in the farming community
  • Represent the company in a professional, positive and pleasant manner.
