Job summary

Green Diamond Equipment in Stratford, PEI is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to perform diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance on John Deere equipment.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, a high school certificate, and a valid driver’s license; Red Seal certification or apprenticeship is preferred. We offer full-time hours (40-44 weekly), a wage range of $20–$32 per hour, and benefits including health and pension.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience performing service repairs.
• High school certificate required.
• Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and Precision Ag products.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Maintain vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment in good condition.
• Adhere to safety rules and complete forms/reports as required.
• Collaborate with Service Manager and other departments as directed.

We\'re currently seeking a dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician (Mechanic) to join our Stratford, PEI team.

Purpose: Independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established Precision Ag products


• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment


• Test repaired equipment for proper performance


• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment


• May attach components and adjust new farm equipment


• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel


• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products


• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment


• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion


• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments


• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments


• Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager


• Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety and cooperative fun work environment

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

• 2+ years of experience performing service repairs required


• High school certificate required.


• Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred


• Valid driver\’s license required.


• Forklift license an asset.


• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment


• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment


• Ability to use basic computer functions


• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes


• Proficient oral and written communication skills


• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
