Weir Canada Inc.’s Marine Engineering Division (WME) has managed the Naval Engineering Test Establishment (NETE) on behalf of the Government of Canada since 1953. This position is responsible for providing general administrative services to our senior technical management team, as well as the Human Resources (HR) team, our group of engineers, software specialists, and technologists located in LaSalle.

This is an excellent job opportunity for someone who enjoys routine work and a flexible schedule in a hybrid model. This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours a week

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assisting the Executive Administrative Coordinator (EAC) with :
  • Travel requests and arrangements;
  • Proofreading, formatting and processing of technical reports;
  • Maintaining tracking for technical reports and project activities;
  • Processing and review of expense claims, when needed;
  • Review of personnel timesheets; and
  • Any other duties under the EAC’s responsibility.
  • Supporting the HR team with their administrative needs.
  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 5 years of related administrative experience;
  • Ability to work alone and without constant supervision;
  • Very resourceful and tech savvy;
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Focused and attentive to details;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in French and English;
  • Demonstrate a degree of tact, discretion and good judgment in recognizing scope of work and in protecting confidential information;
  • Strong aptitude for team work, provides back-up support to co-workers when appropriate;
  • Ability to handle occasional stress in dealing with increased demands during peak periods.
  • Canadian citizenship, with 10 or more years residing in Canada with no periods longer than six continuous months out of country, is absolutely necessary as part of the requirements to obtain a government security clearance to the minimum level of Secret.
