Job summary

Paterson Grain is seeking motivated, hands-on students to join the summer operations, marketing and administrative team at a Paterson Grain location. Reporting to the Location Manager, you will assist and shadow staff to ensure quality in handling and delivering Paterson Grain products and services.

The role provides exposure to facility operations, inventory control, customer service, and project work with safety standards like ISO 22000.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or diploma in Ag Business, Agronomy, or related discipline.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn day-to-day operations.
• Farming/agriculture background is a plus.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with facility operations including unloading, fertilizer handling, rail shipping, grain cleaning, and forklift loading.
• Follow safety guidelines and ISO 22000 relevance in operations.
• Organize the inventory shed and maintain visibility of stock movements.
• Record loadouts and invoices in AGRE; support admin with customer service and contracts.
• Shadow staff and assist with marketing, tours, and community events.
• Deliver chemicals and seed between Paterson Grain facilities.
• Conduct field scouting and enter data into records software.
• Assist with planning summer events and customer relations.
• Other duties as assigned.
