Job summary

MacLean Engineering is seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our Collingwood aftermarket production team. You will weld and fit heavy components per engineering drawings, using Miller GMAW equipment and 0.045” wire, while maintaining quality and productivity on an afternoon/weekend shift.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years’ GMAW experience on heavy weldments, reading blueprints, and a safety-first mindset. Training options include crane operation and CSA W59 surface prep.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with GMAW Flat Position on heavy weldments.
• Experience reading engineering drawings from 3rd angle projection.
• CWB CSA 47.1 GMAW Flat is an asset.
• Crane operator training and certification is preferred.
• Completion of blueprint reading is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Interpret detailed drawings and fit components to specification.
• Weld and fit components per dimensions and tolerances.
• Operate Miller GMAW machines and control heat to minimize distortion.
• Perform accessory grinding and surface prep per CSA W59/WPDS.
• Rig and operate 5-ton overhead crane or weld rotisserie.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and report maintenance needs.
