Department: Joint Treatment

Title: Production Operator

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer, and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing materials, and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations worldwide, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products, and people to build walls, ceilings, and careers.

We are currently recruiting a Production Operator for our plant in Calgary, Alberta.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate technical and analytical abilities in a manufacturing setting within a large corporation. As a key member of the Joint Treatment department, you will be responsible for conducting inspections throughout the production process in a dynamic product development and batch production environment. You will follow established guidelines, prioritize safety, and have opportunities to showcase creativity and autonomy in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating and assisting in the manufacturing processes of the Joint Treatment Department under the supervision of the Joint Treatment Supervisor.
  • Training on five different positions within the operator rate program:
    • Ready Mix Trainee
    • Fill Station Operator
    • Forklift/Wash Down Operator
    • Mixer Operator
    • Ready Mix Technician
  • Maintaining safety, housekeeping, and adherence to CGC Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSA’s, and SOPs.
  • Promoting safety and enforcing safety standards among team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Computer skills are an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A safety-conscious, results-oriented individual who values safety and quality in all work aspects.

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 1:00 PM - 11:30 PM (4x10 hours)

Pay Rate: $31.80/hour
