Job summary

Eclipse Automation is seeking an Industrial Mechanic for our Energy Division in Cambridge, ON. The role involves assembling, testing, and commissioning custom automated systems, with emphasis on mechanical fit, alignment, and performance.

You will read complex drawings, manage heavy lifts, and ensure safety compliance on site. The position requires travel to customer locations and a strong emphasis on quality, teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification for a Millwright, Tool & Die Maker, Iron Worker, or equivalent energy/industrial experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience with heavy machinery is an asset.
• Knowledge of Z299 energy project quality levels is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of Candu refurbishment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including pneumatic/hydraulic schematics and BOMs.
• Assemble, test, and commission automated systems within the Energy Division.
• Plan and execute heavy lifts (10–100 tons) with appropriate rigging and safety measures.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and scissor lifts; conduct final inspection of assemblies.
• Travel to customer sites for service and installation; maintain professional communication.
