A regional educational organization in Kitchener is seeking Before and After School Support (B.A.S.S.) employees. This role involves supervising children, supporting their learning and social interactions, and ensuring their safety in a positive environment. Qualified applicants must hold a high school diploma and have experience in child supervision. Training in Standard First Aid with CPR Level C/AED is required.

The Successful Candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Background Check including the Vulnerable Sector, which must be received in Human Resources prior to the commencement of employment. Please note, the Board does not assume any costs associated with the Criminal Reference Check. Social Insurance Number (SIN), date of birth, and proof of educational qualifications will be required at the time of an offer of employment.

Under the for staff screening and police record checks; Employees [DECEs, EAs, CYWs] working in licensed child care programs are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check issued by a Police Service on or before every fifth anniversary after the date of the most recent vulnerable sector check. In addition, employees are required to complete an annual offence declaration (annually recorded through the WRDSB staff portal). Educators working in Before and After School Programs are required to complete a request for VSC through your local police service (available online) and submit your original electronic copy to the Licensed Child Care Staff Record Site (LCCSR).
Employees are required to have a valid first aid and CPR certificate and or be registered to update their training within the year and to maintain this certification. Employees may be required to work on PD days, Winter break, and March break when the program is operating. It is the responsibility of interested candidates to ensure that their application, including a resume and a copy of a current Certificate of Qualification is submitted through Apply to Education.
