Job summary

The Bishop Strachan School in Toronto is seeking an After Care Teacher for an afternoon role from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You will collaborate with fellow instructors to plan the daily After Care program and assist with activities for students aged 4 to 12.

You will prepare engaging materials, supervise outdoor and indoor activities, and communicate with parents during pick-up while ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in ECE, CYW, Child Studies, Education or related field.
• Experience working with students 4–12 years in a school, camp or childcare setting.
• Current First Aid/CPR preferred or willing to obtain.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Works collaboratively with the other After Care Teachers to organize and plan the daily After Care Program.
• Supports in planning activities for the students including homework completion for older students.
• Prepares materials for student activities that are engaging and educational.
• Creates outdoor activities that balance free play and structured games.
• Supervises students on playground and indoors in all weather conditions.
• Liaises with other teachers and parents to meet students' needs.
• Communicates with parents daily during pick-up time.
• Administers and supervises daily snack with students and adheres to health and safety protocols (e.g., allergies).
• Tracks attendance of students.

Hourly Wage: $20.00 - $25.00/hour

What You'll Do:

Who You Are:

• Experience working with students 4 to 12 years of age in a school, camp or childcare setting
• Knowledge of effective programs, sports and games that enhance the learning of girls
• Current in First Aid/CPR preferred or willing to obtain
• Excellent verbal and written skills
