Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a PhD‑level CFD Software Developer to advance advanced aerodynamics and high‑performance computing. You will develop and optimize CFD solvers, implement Navier–Stokes methods and turbulence models, and contribute to reduced‑order modelling within a multidisciplinary aerospace team.

You will work on Linux HPC environments using MPI/OpenMP, plus CUDA/Kokkos for GPU acceleration.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field (Aerospace/Mechanical/Applied Math/CS) required.
• Strong CFD background with Navier–Stokes solvers and turbulence modelling.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for scientific software.
• Experience on Linux HPC environments with MPI/OpenMP.
• Knowledge of ROM techniques (PCA/POD/PROM) and projection-based modelling.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, benchmarking, and code reviews.
• Fluency in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CFD solvers for aircraft configurations.
• Implement numerical methods for Navier–Stokes equations and turbulence modelling.
• Support high-order CFD methods for scale-resolving simulations.
• Develop Reduced-Order Models for aeroelasticity and digital twins.
• Scale codes on HPC platforms using MPI/OpenMP and parallel programming best practices.
• Maintain software quality with CI/CD, testing, benchmarking and reviews.
• Validate CFD tools against wind-tunnel and flight data.
