Job summary

Precision AI in Calgary is seeking a hands-on Mechanics Technician to build, test, and repair mechanical assemblies for our precision spraying technologies. You will work from engineering drawings, BOMs, and direction from engineers to turn designs into reliable, repeatable builds.

You will report to the Lead Technical Program Manager and collaborate with mechanical and hardware engineers. The role is based at Precision AI’s Calgary HQ, five days a week, in a fast-moving, impact-driven

Qualifications

• Alberta welder journeyperson certification (or equivalent) with hands-on welding aluminum and steel.
• Hands-on experience assembling and repairing mechanical systems in manufacturing.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and torque tools; able to work to tight tolerances.
• Able to read mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials.
• Familiar with fasteners, fittings, plumbing, and fluid handling; pneumatic cylinders a plus.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues on real hardware (leaks, misalignment, wear).
• Diploma or certificate in mechanical technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Bonus: CNC machining, manual mill/lathe, welding; 3D printing and CAD familiarity.
• Bonus: experience with pumps, nozzles, or fluid delivery systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical subsystems from drawings and BOMs.
• Install components to specification with correct torque and sealing.
• Fabricate parts and fixtures; prototype iterations quickly.
• Weld aluminum and steel parts as needed for builds.
• Test assemblies for leaks, fit, and function; diagnose faults.
• Document build records and revision history; label components.
• Keep shop organized and ready for the next build.
