Description

Reporting to the Manager, Information and Privacy, the Advisor, Privacy – Responsible Innovation & Data Ethics serves as Covenant Health’s primary operational leader for privacy by design in emerging technologies, data innovation, advanced analytics, and AI. The Advisor establishes and drives the organization’s privacy compliance approach for these domains—owning the privacy risk management framework, associated processes, toolsets, and operating mode – under the Health Information Act (HIA) and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). The Advisor will also conduct and oversee the full privacy impact assessment (PIA) lifecycle for qualifying initiatives; define standards and procedures that enable the responsible adoption of innovative technologies; embed privacy controls into enterprise data governance and implement a practical AI privacy governance program aligned with recognized frameworks such as NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001. They collaborate closely with various partners to ensure solutions meet Covenant Health’s policies and Alberta legislative requirements, while escalating significant risks and recommendations to the Manager. The ideal candidate will leverage their risk management, governance, reporting and continuous improvement experience to own the privacy impact assessment lifecycle and develop ongoing improvement initiatives. This position is non-unionized.
