The National Capital Commission is looking for an experienced professional to lead Indigenous engagement initiatives. The role involves planning outreach activities, providing advice on consultations, and supporting decision-making through effective communication and reports.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Partnerships and Engagement, you will provide advice, plan, and implement partnerships, indigenous outreach activities and Indigenous engagement initiatives to support the NCC’s duty to consult and reconciliation activities with indigenous community members. These include consultations, indigenous community relations, toponomy and other projects. You will provide advice on Indigenous consultations in the context of impact assessments and indigenous traditional knowledge. You will also draft correspondence, develop workshops, analyze feedback and prepare reports to support decision making.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in Communications, Indigenous Studies, Public Relations, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, or an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three years of experience in Indigenous engagement, stakeholder or community engagement and relations.
