Job summary

Desjardins is seeking a Group Retirement Savings BI advisor to act as SME for complex files, aligning data, rules and processes across business partners. You will lead BI and technology teams to ensure reliable information for management decisions.

The role requires SQL/SAS mastery, Power BI, data warehouse knowledge, and French plus English communication. Six years of experience in retirement savings data and a bachelor’s degree are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience analyzing data from complex transactional systems.
  • Experience interpreting complex business rules and assessing their impact on data, indicators and processes.
  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • Proficiency in English due to duties or tools.
  • Mastery of SQL and/or SAS languages.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse principles, dimensional modelling and data integration.
  • Knowledge of data quality, governance and traceability concepts.
  • Familiarity with the group savings sector.

  • Ensure consistency between business processes, data, rules, and indicators used by business segments.
  • Define directions and approaches to meet the needs of multiple systems and teams, and evaluate impacts on data, processes and management information.

  • Work on or govern complex analyses and help teams interpret results, validate solutions and develop BI capabilities.

The Business Intelligence and Security Department helps the business sectors leverage and valorize information to support their decision-making, improve processes and improve the organization’s analytical capabilities. As a Group Retirement Savings Business Intelligence advisor, you will act as a subject matter expert for complex files that require a deep understanding of business processes, management rules and group retirement savings data. You will lead and influence business partners, business intelligence teams and technology teams to ensure information used for management purposes is used in a consistent, reliable and effective way. The nature of the files you will be working on require the ability to understand complex business environments, analyze the impacts of changes and support teams as they seek to identify which approaches to be taken. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Act as a subject matter expert to help our business partners, business intelligence teams and technology teams understand our needs, plan work tasks and support decisions related to complex files

What You Bring To The Table
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience analyzing data from complex transactional systems
  • Experience interpreting complex business rules and assessing their impact on data, indicators and processes
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Mastery of SQL and/or SAS languages
  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Knowledge of data warehouse principles, dimensional modelling and data integration
  • Knowledge of data quality, governance and traceability concepts
  • Familiarity with the group savings sector
