Job summary

Desjardins Group is seeking a finance and general accounting advisor to help manage financial accounts, produce reports, conduct audits and analyze risks, profits and losses. You will support budgeting, accounting systems and pricing decisions while advising clients and partners on financial improvements.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across functions, develop objectives and action plans, and communicate findings clearly to support Desjardins' objectives and ensure accurate reflection

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients.

Job description

As a finance and general accounting advisor, you help manage financial accounts in accordance with the organization’s objectives by producing reports; performing audits, inspections and financial simulations; and analyzing risks, profits and losses. In addition to ensuring financial performance, you help plan and review budget processes. You help manage and control the organization’s accounting systems by gathering, processing and recording financial data to accurately reflect the organization’s economic activity. You assist with product and service pricing and financial engineering, financial market transactions, and tax law analysis (including payroll). You advise and assist clients and partners and recommend solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies and programs. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work. You prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on the organization’s objectives and priorities. You help solve complex problems using your analytical skills and extensive knowledge of your line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.

More specifically, you will be required to:
