Job description

We anticipate the need for one or more Advanced Step Apprentice/Journeyman Lineman at our Abbotsford Distribution Shop, in Abbotsford, Wisconsin. The starting base pay for this position is $57.12 hourly. This position will be posted for 15 working days from May 2nd, 2025 to May 22nd, 2025.

An Advanced Step Apprentice will start at 80% of the Journeyman rate of pay at 5th Step, increasing to 85% at 6th Step, 90% at 7th Step, and 95% at 8th Step.

Summary
Primary responsibilities include installation, maintenance, and removal of overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment. Must be able to climb poles, work on energized conductors and equipment, perform hot stick work on energized high voltage conductors, work in inclement weather, be available for callout work, and perform all other duties outlined for the lineman position.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical School Lineman degree preferred
• Must be qualified as a Journeyman Lineman with knowledge of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance, and Operating procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills required
• Participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all weather conditions required
• Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility line crew required
• Commitment to safety and compliance with all safety rules
• Physical ability to perform line work tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
• Willing to travel and work away from home
• Reside within 20 miles of the Abbotsford Service Center within 6 months of hire
• Meet driver qualification requirements per FMCSR parts 382 and 391, including valid CDL Class A
• Subject to D.O.T. drug and alcohol testing

Bargaining

The anticipated starting pay range is $48.55 to $57.12 per hour.
