This is an opportunity to join a dynamic new business within Zebra. You will be developing key components to be leveraged by other teams to build the overall solution.

We are looking for a strong developer with a keen eye for detail and an interest in learning new technologies and techniques. You will be a key part of the implementation and verification process, challenged to create a robust and maintainable implementation.

Location:

Onsite in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities:

1. Establish requirements for highly complex software design projects and potentially lead a team responsible for requirements gathering, ensuring correct features are incorporated.
2. Architect and design complex software projects, completing all project phases and inspections.
3. Drive code reviews and develop technical and quality improvements.
4. Create new programs, technologies, and solutions based on innovative ideas.
5. Document new ideas and methodologies for use by software teams.
6. Provide technical leadership across multiple disciplines and program management, acting as a knowledge leader.
7. Define requirements and design complex tools for analysis and problem-solving.
8. Initiate cross-company collaboration and foster positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
9. Exercise judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria within broadly defined policies.
10. Coordinate activities of other personnel as needed.
11. Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
12. Interact with management and senior customer personnel, often leading projects and representing the organization.
13. Read code and understand its fit within overall architecture.
14. Handle well-defined technical problems, present and defend design proposals.
15. Harden frameworks by identifying edge cases and refining implementations.
16. Guide teams through adoption and integration phases.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of experience.
• Strong REST developer skills and experience.
• Experience in application networking and Linux.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience with ingress, web sockets, load balancers, TLS, mTLS.
• Knowledge of symmetric/asymmetric encryption and hardware components.
• Security expertise.
• Strong influential skills and customer-focused decision-making.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and bring new ideas.
• Commitment to continuing education and certifications.
