Hours : 37.5 hours per week

Status : Temporary Full-Time

Position Summary

Interventional Radiology is an area of significant innovation and evolution. In this role, the APNE leads education at the cutting edge of best practice through the use of adult education principles and skills in change management.

Duties
  • Design and deliver tailored staff education
  • Promote professional development and mentor nurses for career growth
  • Collaborate with teams across UHN and the academic community on clinical and educational initiatives
  • Participate in committees and share best practices
  • Lead program evaluation, implement innovative education strategies, and support quality improvement initiatives
  • Drive nursing visibility and change management efforts, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
  • Must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and able to practice without restrictions
  • Current membership in RNAO (Registered Nurses Association of Ontario) is preferred
  • Current membership in a related professional interest group or association is preferred
  • At a minimum, completion of a graduate degree in Nursing or Education or recognized equivalent is required
  • Experience in adult education and relevant educational frameworks, including program planning, development, and evaluation, is required
  • Completion of specialty-specific certification programs relevant to clinical areas is required
  • Completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) program is required upon hire
  • Previous experience as an Educator is an asset
  • At least three years of nursing experience in a relevant specialty is preferred
  • Excellent leadership, time management, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to interpret, communicate, and disseminate research findings to support patient care and recommend evidence-based practice changes
  • Ability to build trust, provide coaching, facilitate change, and promote continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and effective use of information technology
  • Ability to work effectively as part of or lead an interprofessional team
  • Ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines
