Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Mettler Toledo is seeking to hire a Sales Specialist to promote advanced MT solutions to defined accounts within specific market segments across Canada. The role requires assembling and communicating in-depth solution-oriented proposals, including aspects such as return on investment, lifecycle management, and customer impact assessments. As an Advanced Sales Specialist, you will primarily utilize consultative selling techniques to achieve goals in larger, more project-based sales cycles. The role aims to increase partnership, revenue, and profitability for the company through effective sales activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet annual targets by participating in account selection, identifying key accounts, and employing key account strategies.
  • Travel within the assigned territory to meet with current and prospective customers, educate, inform, and solicit orders.
  • Improve data quality within the CRM and use the tool to manage all sales process aspects and pipeline.
  • Participate in account selection and develop detailed penetration plans for designated accounts.
  • Contribute to bi-weekly pipeline and penetration plan reviews.
  • Develop an annual comprehensive territory review, including market, channel, and competitive landscape analysis, and detailed penetration plans.
  • Complete reports such as expenses, evaluations, and order reports on time.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Master's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry); a PhD is preferred, along with 3 years of sales experience, preferably in technical instrument sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis and process chemistry applications is required.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems, preferably SAP, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Up to 50% overnight travel may be required.
  • French language skills are a plus.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
