Purpose of Job
To provide effective emergency response.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain standards of practice consistent with the provincial governing regulatory body.
- Comply with International SOS’ Procedures and Processes.
- Have a strong working knowledge of the Service Delivery Standards that constitute the Quality Improvement Program and aim to achieve these at all times.
- Have a good working knowledge of Medical Records storage and retrieval.
- Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and customer-friendly manner.
- Ensure equipment and transport vehicles are ready 24/7 to undertake all medical retrieval services.
- Participate in medical retrieval services as required.
- Participate in annual skills assessment testing in basic life support and other identified skills.
- Operate clinically within boundaries of the professional licenses of the incumbent.
- Ensure incoming calls are answered as per SOPP.
- Maintain daily/nightly duties as assigned.
- Undertake triage of patients as requested.
- Participate in all internal training activities on site.
- Actively maintain skills through ongoing education.
- Assist with the internal training program on site by preparing training sessions as requested.
- Understand equipment maintenance program and participate as appropriate when requested.
- Ensure equipment is in good condition and alert Equipment Department if there is a suspected problem.
- Ensure all stock is intact and within date.
- Maintain inventories of all stock as per the procedure.
- Ensure infection control practices are followed at all times in line with procedures.
- Ensure adequate supplies of PPE are available.
- Maintain patient records as care is provided in an objective, complete, and timely manner.
- Participate in scheduled meetings and other activities as requested.
- Prepare reports relating to the specific area of responsibility as requested.
- Participate in committees or working groups as requested.
- Assist in writing procedures as requested from time to time.
- Participate actively in the continuous quality improvement program through identification of risks in daily activities.
- Prepare reports on quality issues as requested.
About You
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
- Work experience as an Advanced First Aid Attendant.
- Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to work under pressure.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Alignment with our values of expertise, passion, respect, and care.
Preferences:
- Experience in an industrial setting.
- High level of knowledge and ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and hold others accountable.
Work Environment and Schedule
- You will work out of our Mobile Treatment Centre trucks; accommodations (camp) and meals are provided.
- The work schedule varies: 2 weeks on/2 weeks off or 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.
- On-call and extended hours may be required based on operational needs.
