Job summary

Medavie Health Services West (MHSW) provides EMS services in Central Alberta, seeking a Paramedic to deliver advanced pre-hospital care and operate within provincial guidelines. The role emphasizes patient safety, documentation, and teamwork across shifts.

This temporary position requires active Alberta College of Paramedics registration, MCP completion, and a valid Alberta operator license. Strong professionalism and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Alberta Operator's License class 1, 2 or 4 required.
• Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
• Completion of Alberta Health Services MCP’s required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and skills per AOCP to deliver optimum patient care.
• Safely operate MHS-West vehicles per Safety Manual, guidelines, and regulations.
• Stock and maintain vehicles in a state of readiness.
• Work in hazardous environments to ensure patient safety and stabilization.
• Document all patient care in the patient care report (ePCR) promptly.
• Collaborate with outside agencies as a team for patient care.
• Follow the MHS-West chain of command.

Education

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Alberta Operator's License class 1, 2 or 4

Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
