The ACP provides immediate treatment and transportation of sick and injured individuals to appropriate medical facilities. ACPs operate within the knowledge and scope of the Advanced Care practice, as well as provide leadership throughout each shift using specified educational training. The ACP is responsible for decision-making, leadership and safety of the ambulance throughout each shift. ACPs work alongside PCPs and ICPS on a daily basis and provide a reliable and dependable insight throughout emergency medical situations.

Due to the nature of operating in the public eye, a high level of professionalism, communication, and knowledge is always expected. The ACP is required to conduct themselves in a safe and discreet manner, with the responsibility of conduct justification to patients, family members, hospitals staff, management, public agencies, legal court, and more. As an employee of IEMS, you are accountable to our patients, coworkers, and management by supporting all safety-related initiatives, as well as fostering a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe workplace.

Requirements for your application:

  • Current Resume and Cover Letter
  • Current PEI Paramedic License
  • Current CPR card
  • Copy of diploma/degree
  • Class 4 Driver's License; must be fully graduated/unrestricted
  • Driver's abstract; issued within the last 90 days
  • Valid ACLS certification
  • Valid Driver's course certificate (CEVO); issued within the last 2 years
  • Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check; issued within the last 90 days
  • Confirmation of HEP. B vaccination
  • Maintains ACP status through any mandated continuing medical education
  • Additional training and/or education is highly valued

$32.84 - $42.10 hourly as per CUPE 3324 Collective Agreement.
