Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain standards of practice consistent with the provincial governing regulatory body
  2. Comply with International SOS’ Procedures and Processes
  3. Have a strong working knowledge of the Service Delivery Standards that constitute the Quality Improvement Program and aim to achieve these at all times
  4. Have a good working knowledge of Medical Records storage and retrieval
  5. Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and customer friendly manner
  6. Ensure equipment and transport vehicles are ready 24/7 to undertake all medical retrieval services
  7. Participate in medical retrieval services as required
  8. Participate in annual skills assessment testing in basic life support and other identified skills
  9. Operate clinically within boundaries of the professional licenses of the incumbent
  10. Ensure incoming calls are answered as per SOPP
  11. Maintain daily/nightly duties as assigned
  12. Undertake triage of patients as requested
  13. Participate in all internal training activities on site
  14. Actively maintain skills through ongoing education
  15. Assist with the internal training program on site by preparing training sessions as requested
  16. Understand equipment maintenance program and participate as appropriate when requested
  17. Ensure equipment is in good condition and alert Equipment Department if there is a suspected problem
  18. Ensure all stock is intact and within date
  19. Maintain inventories of all stock as per the procedure
  20. Ensure infection control practices are followed at all times in line with procedures
  21. Ensure adequate supplies of PPE are available
  22. Maintain patient records as care is provided in an objective, complete, and timely manner
  23. Participate in scheduled meetings and other activities as requested
  24. Prepare reports relating to the specific area of responsibility as requested
  25. Participate in committees or working groups as requested
  26. Any other duties that may be requested from time to time by management
  27. Assist in writing of procedures as requested from time to time
  28. Participate actively in the continuous quality improvement program through identification of risk in daily activities
  29. Prepare reports as requested on quality issues

About You

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Work experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic
  • ACLS
  • Exceptional collaboration with other groups and the ability to work under pressure
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Alignment with our values of expertise, passion, respect and care

Preference for:

  • Experience in an industrial setting
  • A high level of knowledge and the ability to interpret relevant medical and operational guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our camp-based client sites. Accommodations & meals provided
  • The working schedule varies from 2 weeks on to 2 weeks off to 3 weeks on 3 weeks off
  • On-call and extended hours may be required after hours when operational and business requirements indicate
