Job summary

Strive Living Society in North Vancouver, BC, seeks a Casual Staffed Living Support Services worker to assist individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. You will follow health plans, document daily activities, and support community participation in a respectful, inclusive environment.

The role is on-site with a rotating schedule across 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm, starting ASAP. Eligibility includes a Class 4/5 BC driver's license, First Aid/CPR, Food Safe, and a clean record; benefits

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns, and behaviours.
• Ability to communicate effectively and complete daily documentation.
• Understanding of health care plans, personal protocols, schedules and activities.

• Knowledge and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns, and behaviours
• An understanding of the needs and barriers faced by individuals with various abilities
• Command of English language with ability to communicate effectively and complete daily documentation
• Ability to understand and follow health care plans, personal protocols, schedules, and activities
• Ability to follow policies and procedures, including health and safety policies
• An understanding of the difference between creating independence vs. creating dependence
• Competence to safely accompany/transport individuals to appointments and activities in the community
• Knowledge and experience with community resources, integration, and teaching life skills
• The physical ability to perform all the duties required of the position

Qualifications and Requirements

• Class 4 or 5 BC Driver’s License required and clean driver’s abstract
• Minimum of 1-year experience (or combination of education and experience)
• Positive Behaviour Management
• Criminal Record Check
• Negative TB test
• First Aid and CPR
• Food Safe Certificate

Compensation: $27.53/hour, plus benefits upon meeting eligibility requirements.
