Job Summary

The Master of Physician Assistant Studies ( MPAS ) program provides students with comprehensive training in various areas such as clinical medicine, patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, pharmacology, and surgical procedures. Reporting to the Director, MPAS , the Admissions & Student Affairs Coordinator Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day support and coordination of the admissions process and student support of the Physician Assistant program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary resource person for admissions-related inquiries, including phone, email and in-person visitors and will provide guidance on application requirements and related information.
  • Process and enter all application related documents daily ensuring accuracy and all admissions systems are up to date and current.
  • Coordinate admissions interviews including logistics, interview questions and scoring rubrics, recruitment and training of interviewers, communication with applicants, and all other details for preparation and execution of interviews.
  • Support student success by overseeing various aspects of student services, including academic advising with MPAS Student Advisors and Student Affairs Subcommittee, student engagement, wellness initiatives, and administrative support .
  • Develop and implement student engagement initiatives, including orientation, stethoscope ceremony, townhalls, convocation, and other annual program functions.

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Business/Office Administration program with approximately five years’ related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and database systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to organize workload required, as well as the ability to work independently and multi-task in a deadline driven, team environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential student issues with considerable tact.

Assets

  • Experience in a health professional education environment.
  • Knowledge of Brightspace, One45, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic health care environment would be beneficial.
