Job description

In the last decade, the rate of Canadians with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder has nearly doubled. Currently, one in five Canadians experiences a mental illness annually, and 7% contemplate suicide. Substance abuse has also increased, with the Canadian Mental Health Association estimating that 21% of the population will meet the criteria for addiction in their lifetime. Unfortunately, the public system has struggled to meet the increased demand for intensive treatment, resulting in an average wait time of nearly two months.

EHN Canada was founded in 2013 to address this growing need. We believe every Canadian has the right to accessible (little to no wait times), affordable (covered by government or employer), and high-quality (outcomes measurement and evidence-based practices) mental health and addiction services. We have grown to become the country’s largest private provider of these services, with treatment available at ten locations and through a virtual program.

Led by Joe Manget, CEO and Chairman, EHN Canada won the Greater Toronto Top Employer Award in 2023. That same year, he published Everybody’s Business: How to Ensure Canadian Prosperity Through the Twenty-First Century, outlining four pillars to enhance our country’s prosperity. He has also been recognized by Ernst & Young as a top health and life sciences entrepreneur.

Our plan is to increase treatment capacity by 385% over the next five years. As the largest private industry of its kind in Canada, we are building something unprecedented—moving quickly, innovating rapidly, and learning along the way. If this excites you, we are seeking talented professionals from all sectors who thrive in a startup culture.

Let’s build this together!

Job Description

With inpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment centers across the country, EHN Canada has a strong market presence, including brand recognition, referral relationships, previous clients, advertising, word-of-mouth, and search engine optimization. We generate over 10,000 inbound inquiries monthly from potential clients or their families, which are managed by the admissions team via calls, chats, and emails.

The Admissions Coordinator handles this high volume of inquiries through professional 30-minute phone consultations. This involves building relationships, understanding client situations through detailed discovery questions, and recommending appropriate treatment programs. Team members receive ongoing training on mental health disorders, treatment modalities, ethics, confidentiality, and client needs assessment. The role also manages an active inquiry pipeline and collaborates with medical and clinical staff for admissions approval.

The admissions team is expected to double in size over the next five years. Since mastering this role requires an 18-24 month learning curve, leadership opportunities are filled internally. We are looking for new team members as well as future leaders, supervisors, managers, and directors.

Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, compassion, customer service abilities, self-motivation, emotional intelligence, and teamwork.
