Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities of the Admissions Coordinator Assistant: To assist the Admissions Coordinator with the facility’s inquiry and admissions process.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with employee, public relations, and community initiatives, including developing staff morale activities, celebrating birthdays, and organizing community events.
  • Maintain high visibility of the facility in the community to project a positive image regarding long-term health care options.
  • Assist with developing special events such as open houses and community booths.
  • Provide tours of the facility for families and potential residents, ensuring admission information and quality tours are available 24/7.

Assist with the facility’s inquiry and admissions process, including:

  • Handling admissions procedures and paperwork in compliance with TLC policy.
  • Checking admission papers and forwarding them to the appropriate department.
  • Orienting residents and explaining room rates, billing, visitor privileges, and care procedures.
  • Maintaining registries for admissions and discharges.
  • Protecting resident confidentiality and rights at all times.
  • Reporting incidents, accidents, complaints, or allegations according to policy.

Ensure safety, infection control, and cleanliness by:

  • Keeping work areas clean and records properly stored.
  • Following emergency protocols and reporting any abuse or safety concerns.
  • Adhering to infection control and universal precautions.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions or management.

Qualifications

Qualifications for Admissions Coordinator Assistant:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • College degree in liberal arts, nursing/social services, or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of best admissions practices.
  • Interpersonal and managerial skills.
