Position Overview

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous improvement in quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Working as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team in the Ambulatory Care setting and Specialty clinics, such as Endoscopy, Urodynamics, Minor Surgical Plastics, and Cataract Sedation, the nurse functions as an experienced, self-directed surgical care nurse. The role involves assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Two (2) years recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
• Basic Life Support, Level C.
