Job description

Join the dedicated team at East Cumberland Lodge as their Administrator/Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), where your leadership skills will make a significant impact on the well-being of their residents. Nestled overlooking the breathtaking Pugwash harbour, East Cumberland Lodge is a 74-bed Level I & Level II Nursing Home, licensed by the Nova Scotia Department of Health. As a registered Canadian charity operated by the Cumberland Senior Care Corporation, their commitment to providing exceptional care is at the forefront of everything they do.

As the Administrator/CAO, you will play a vital role in the overall management of the facility, working collaboratively with a dedicated Board of Directors, department directors, and staff to ensure the highest standards of care and operational excellence. If you are passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors and possess strong leadership and organizational skills, we invite you to be part of the team and contribute to the continued success of East Cumberland Lodge.

As the Chief Administrative Officer, you're not just a manager; you're a leader who embodies the values of leading from the heart and fostering a collaborative team spirit. East Cumberland Lodge has earned a strong reputation for its warm, home-like atmosphere. Step into a role that's more than a job—it's a calling. As the heart of the organization, you'll have the exciting opportunity to implement the Strategic Plan and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values. From overseeing day-to-day operations to managing the wonderful team and ensuring the smooth running of the premises, you'll be at the forefront of creating a nurturing environment for the residents. With a focus on residents' well-being, human resources, and financial management, this role offers a chance to make a real difference every day.

The ideal candidate will hold a Baccalaureate or higher degree in a health-related discipline or public health administration. Alongside this educational foundation, we require some managerial experience. We're looking for someone who not only manages but inspires—someone with a proven track record of fostering effective employee relations and adeptly navigating the complexities of government legislation and securing funds through grants. Experience in a unionized environment is a plus, as is direct experience collaborating with a Board of Directors. Above all, we seek a leader who embodies excellence, seamlessly blending administrative finesse, leadership, and a positive demeanor with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
