A healthcare provider in Halifax seeks an Administrator and Office Clerk to handle administrative duties and liaise with patients primarily over the phone. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and time management skills, and have experience in customer service and healthcare settings. Additionally, qualifications such as GCSE level, along with NVQ III in IT or admin, are preferred. Flexibility in working hours is required to ensure coverage during operational hours.
Thepost-holder will be working with the rest of the team at Beechwood MedicalCentre. Youwill answer the telephone and liaise with patients mainly over the phone. The main role of the position is to deal with all of the administrative duties associated with General Practice. Thehours are quite specific in order to cover the site for all of the hours we areopen. If you have worked in general practice or primary care before that wouldbe useful but it is not essential all of the training will be given.
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Administrator and Office Clerk.There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will dependon factors such as workload and staffing levels as directed by the Practice Operations Manager:
a. Carry out administrative duties associated with working in a busy office environment.
b. To use the telephone to call patientsand take inbound calls from patients in the admin office.
c. Book, change and cancel appointmentsfor patients in line with current arrangements.
d. Deal with things, like prescription requests, patient registrations, patient signposting and carrying out duties as requested by the Practice OperationsManager, Business Manager or Partners
e. To work with other team members and support the practice operationally. This may included things like scanning, coding, referrals and general office duties.
The hours for this role are very specific in order to cover the surgery for the hours we are open:
Monday - 12.00pm - 6.30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Tuesday - 8.00am - 2.30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Wednesday - 12.00pm - 6.30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Thursday - 12.00pm - 6.30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Friday - 8.00am - 2.30pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
Total weekly hours - 30.0
You MUST be able to work these hours, although we will have a small degree of flexability.
