Job description

Your Opportunity:

The Administrative Support III - Switchboard Operator / Visitor Information position performs a variety of complex clerical tasks in providing switchboard and visitor information services for the hospital. This position reports to the Team Lead (RSPI) and Supervisor RSPI Southwest Zone. Main duties include operation of hospital switchboard, reception services for patients, visitors, and vendors, along with receipting of cash transactions. Disseminates patient information within the guidelines of the Health Information Act.

Description:

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills to support complex procedures, practices, and initiatives within a department or program.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Keyboarding skills; proficiency test will be administered.
  • Medical Terminology; proficiency test will be administered.
  • Ability to work all shifts (Days, Evenings, Weekends).
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Professional demeanor, stress management, empathy, and tactfulness.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to cope with stress and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous hospital switchboard or Call Centre experience preferred.
  • Experience with Connect Care system is an asset.
