Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking an Administrative Support/Health Unit Aide in Alert Bay, BC. The ideal candidate will provide clerical and administrative support while working closely with children and community partners. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, making appointments, and conducting screenings.
This casual role requires a Grade 12 education, relevant certifications, and strong communication skills. Candidates should also understand medical terminology and be physically capable of performing all job duties.
Provides a variety of clerical and administrative support duties utilizing computerized applications. Supports the program by performing duties such as maintaining inventories of supplies, booking appointments, gathering client information, scheduling and conducting vision and/or hearing screening for preschool and school-aged children in a school or clinic setting.
Travel between multiple sites may be required. Shift: 08:30-16:30. Home site: Port Hardy Health Centre. The position is casual.
Grade 12; Medical Office Assistant Certificate; Office Administration Certificate; and one (1) year’s recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
