Job description

Vernon Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for a relief part-time (0.80 FTE) Administrative Services Assistant to join their team!

This position works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 08:00 to 16:00.

What Will You Work On?

In this role, you will perform a variety of reception, administrative, and Health Unit Aide support duties including:

  • Data entry such as gathering, organizing, collecting, collating, and verifying information, and typing correspondence
  • Preparing presentations, arranging meetings, transcribing minutes, booking travel, and managing records
  • Scheduling and confirming client appointments, receiving, recording, and checking balances of cash transactions
  • Maintaining and cleaning medical/surgical supplies, equipment, and HCIS resource materials

Additional duties include cleaning, setting up, and dismantling rooms, cleaning/sanitizing toys and equipment, weighing and measuring babies, calibrating equipment, and conducting vision screenings.

What Should Your Application Include?
  • A 5-minute typing test (40+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months (non-supervised tests not accepted). Click here for testing details
  • An office administration certificate from a recognized institution
  • Your resume outlining at least one year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • A cover letter stating your availability to start in this position and your preferred days for on-call, casual work
