We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced administrative professionals to join our team. As an administrative professional at Nova Scotia Health, you will support the efficient operation of healthcare facilities and contribute to the delivery of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide administrative support to various departments, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and maintaining records.
  2. Act as the primary contact for communication via telephone and in person with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.
  3. Assist with the coordination of meetings, events, and projects.
  4. Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, demonstrating professionalism and communication skills.
  5. Utilize office software and equipment to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a supportive work environment.
About You

You excel in a collaborative environment, support colleagues proactively, and are proficient in Microsoft Office programs. You thrive in autonomous, fast-paced settings, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Building positive relationships and managing multiple deadlines are also part of your skill set.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Grade 12 plus one year of related clerical experience or a graduate of a recognized one-year office administration/secretarial/business program or equivalent education.
  • Applications from current Office Administration/Medical Office Administration students graduating within 6 months are accepted.
  • Additional administrative experience may be required depending on the position.
  • Medical terminology course is considered an asset and may be required.
  • Experience in healthcare or similar setting is a strong asset.

Compensation and Hours of Work

Hourly wages start at $23.35 up to $25.39 for positions without experience. Rates increase based on experience. Positions include permanent, temporary, and casual roles with shifts including day, evening, night, and weekends.
