Conditions of Employment :

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Qualifications : Essential :

  • Experience with Financial accounting including accrual and commitment accounting. An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may also be considered.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Experience in Financial management including the preparation of budgets, cash flows and estimates.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or similar software applications.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workloads, multi-task and work on concurrent assignments with strict deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar computerized systems as it relates to financial and human resource activities.

Desired :

  • Working knowledge of financial, procurement and administration policies, procedures and regulations including the preparation of contract documents.
  • Working knowledge of payroll and human resource polices, procedures and regulations including the interpretation of collective agreements.

Duties :

The position co-ordinates and performs specialized administrative, financial, human resource and payroll functions; is responsible for providing training and procedural guidance to clerical and admin staff in the region, including both direct and indirect supervision; and acts in the absence of the Financial Administrator.
