The Salvation Army in Canada and Bermuda is seeking an Administrative/Coordination Assistant to provide day-to-day support for multiple operations. POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: The role provides general administrative support for the day-to-day operations and administrative coordination to one or more of the operations’ subfunctions (e.g., laundry facilities, food bank, Corps. thrift store, etc.) and/ or support event and campaign coordination.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties.
Responsible for scheduling for a MU, facility, etc., anticipate scheduling needs, and completing all associated record keeping. Resolve scheduling conflicts by referring to on-call procedures, collective agreements, and availability; validates contacts to ensure compliance with requirements. Maintain call-in list in accordance with the collective agreement. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Working environment is typically in the office, at the reception desk, or in a community facility in generally agreeable conditions. May be faced with dealing with aggressive and/or disruptive clients or visitors. Some limited travelling is required.
Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Alternative combination of education and experience may be considered. Completion of a formal post‑secondary program of two academic years Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered. Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion.
The target hiring range for this position is $18.30 to $22.87 with a maximum of $27.44. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
