The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Administrative Assistant II supports the Division of Medical Genetics by providing administrative, secretarial, and clerical support. Responsibilities include typing and proofing documents, answering phones, scheduling, data entry, preparing presentations, making travel arrangements, and other office duties.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday; 7.0-hour shifts, exact hours to be determined. Hybrid work option available.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Recognized Office Administration Diploma required.
  • Minimum six months related administrative experience; one year preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; testing may be conducted.
  • Keyboarding skills minimum 40 wpm, 60 wpm preferred.
  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in organizing meetings, teleconferences, and using medical and university library resources is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Meditech, Outlook, DalMedix, Blackboard, and basic accounting is an asset.
  • Additional language skills, especially French, are assets.
