Candidates should have a relevant post-secondary education and 1-3 years of administrative experience. Knowledge of First Nations languages is a strong asset. Wataynikaneyap Power PM Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of FortisOntario Inc., acts as the Project Manager of Wataynikaneyap Power LP (“Wataynikaneyap Power”). Wataynikaneyap Power is a licensed transmission entity, majority-owned by a partnership of 24 First Nation communities in partnership with Fortis Inc. and other private investors. The partnership is an unprecedented undertaking and has constructed 1,800 kilometres of 230 kV, 115 kV, and 44 kV transmission lines and 22 substations in northwestern Ontario. The key responsibility of the Administrative Assistant & HR Support role is to provide comprehensive support for the administrative needs of all departments, including Human Resources, within the Wataynikaneyap Power Office. This role will assist with office administrative tasks, human resources functions, coordination of meetings/discussions, directing communications, and offering cross-department support. Responsibilities may include scheduling interviews, supporting employee onboarding, contributing to presentation development and assisting with employee engagement initiatives.
