Job description

Summary Of Duties

Provide administrative support for the Drug Safety Clinic, a fast-paced multi-disciplinary clinic dedicated to evaluating and testing patients for drug allergies and managing adverse drug reactions.

Duties Include

  • Schedule patient appointments, maintain patient/clinic records
  • Greet, screen, register patients in-person and over the phone, and coordinate patient flow during clinic hours
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, fielding patient inquiries in a timely manner, responding to emails, word processing, faxing, filing, and ordering supplies
  • Submit OHIP billings for physicians
  • Assist clinic physicians, pharmacists, and nurses as needed
  • Perform other duties as required for clinic operations

Qualifications/Skills

  • Successful completion of Medical Secretary program/diploma at community college level plus a minimum of 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

  • Recent experience providing administrative support in a healthcare/hospital setting
  • Working knowledge of PHS/PAS, QuadraMed, Outlook, and Microsoft Office is an asset
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (Accuro) is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical/medical terminology
  • Strong computer and keyboarding skills
  • Satisfactory attendance and punctuality required
