We are excited to announce a unique collaboration between the New Brunswick Environmental Network (NBEN) and Food For All NB | Aliments pour tous NB (FFA), two bilingual, provincial organizations connecting environmental and food systems leaders and champions across the province to make change. Together, we are seeking a dynamic and versatile Administrative Assistant to join our teams. This innovative role is designed to leverage resources, share expertise, and amplify our impact on both environmental and food systems-related issues in New Brunswick.

It provides leadership in the advancement of food security by increasing knowledge on food security (INFORM), strengthening networks for coordination of efforts across sectors & regions (CONNECT), and increasing engagement toward comprehensive food actions & policy (ENGAGE).

Salary and benefits : Up to $24 depending on experience. NBEN and FFA are extremely supportive and collaborative workplaces, offering higher-than-industry-standard rates of paid time off, training opportunities, and a flexible work schedule. After a probationary period of 6 months, the organizations will offer a generous health benefits package.

Term of employment : 37.5 hours / week This is a contract position of one year. You will work in a dog-friendly Moncton office. Work hours are Monday to Friday during flexible office hours, with occasional evening and weekend work for special events.

Location : Moncton, New Brunswick. Both office spaces are located in the same building. The NBEN is on the second floor and Food For All is on the third floor of a building only accessible at this time by a flight of stairs, with four gender-neutral washrooms and two kitchenettes on site. Job responsibilities will include :

  • Office management, including responding to phone calls and emails, ensuring office supplies are stocked and available when needed, maintaining equipment such as photocopiers and printers, and interacting with technical support when needed.
  • Database management including maintaining contact information and email lists.
  • Ensuring that members renew their memberships in a timely manner.
  • Website updates including posting calendar events, news items, resource directory, mapping platform, and other updates as needed.
  • Assistance with organizing meetings and teleconferences.
  • Assisting the Communications Manager in streamlining communications.
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Job requirements :

  • At least two (2) years experience in an office environment,
  • Excellent computer skills (including knowledge or willingness to learn Google Workspace, MS Office, CiviCRM, Joomla, Canva, Zoom, Slack),
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently,
  • Excellent communications skills in both official languages (English and French),
  • Friendly and personable,
  • Driver’s license.

Assets :

  • Experience working in the non-profit sector
  • Experience in website updating and / or database management
