Job summary

Southern Health‑Santé Sud in Winkler is seeking a part-time Administrative Clerk to support the Clinical Teaching Unit/Medical Administration. The role is in-person at Boundary Trails Health Centre with 0.40 FTE, 7.75 daily hours, dayshift, starting 09/01/2026 and ending 09/01/2027.

Travel to regional facilities may be required. Minimum two years clerical experience; Grade 12; proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks; bilingual English/French beneficial; valid driver’s license and vehicle

  • Experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized administrative/secretarial program preferred, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical tasks in a health care setting.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of previous clerical experience required.
  • Experience in a health care environment preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized administrative/secretarial program preferred, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications and in particular Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities.
  • Ability to work with a variety of sensitive information and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.
Physical Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
