We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a front desk receptionist. The ideal candidate will have a background in administrative tasks and excellent customer service skills. Experience in a optometry clinic/medical clinic is not a requirement but is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage phone systems and direct calls appropriately
  • Provide administrative support such as data entry, filing, and scheduling
  • Greet and assist patients in a professional manner
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide information about services
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
  • Create invoices and bill insurance
  • Process 3rd party billing payments, faxes and emails
  • Update patients regarding specialist appointments
  • Pre-Testing patients for their exams

Requirements

  • Available Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm
  • Experience in a medical office setting is preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette
  • High degree of organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks and customer service

Acorn Optometry is the sister clinic to Oak Bay Optometry (only a 5 minute drive away). We typically have one doctor on per day and we have two full time staff and two part time staff.
